Government Hospital staff asked to study the possibilities

RAMANATHAPURAM: The Collector, R. Kirloshkumar, has directed the authorities of the Government Hospital here to study the possibilities of changing the outpatient section to some other place within the premises so as to regulate the crowd.

He was inspecting the hospital on Thursday accompanied by Dr. Ibrahim Ali, Joint Director (in-charge).

Mr. Kirloshkumar, who spent more than an hour in the hospital, visited various wards such as outpatient, intensive care unit, registration, blood bank, surgical, labour, X-ray, CT scan unit and pharmacy.

The Collector enquired with the patients about the treatment given to them.

He also enquired with the doctors, nurses and others about their functioning, methods of treatment and the infrastructure available.

When the Collector saw a huge crowd in the outpatient section, he asked the doctors whether it was possible to change the place of the section to a separate place.

Mr. Kirloshkumar checked whether the blood bank was fully utilised. He said an average of 1,400 patients visited the hospital every day. Various amenities for patients as well as for the staff in the hospital would be developed. Instructions were given to the sanitary staff to improve the environment of the hospital.
