TIRUNELVELI: Collector M. Jayaraman on Thursday inspected the work on the Vasudevanallur Combined Drinking Water Scheme being executed on an outlay of Rs. 34 crore.
After inspecting the laying of main pipelines at Veerakeralamputhur and the pumping station at Kalingapatti, Mr. Jayaraman urged the officials concerned to complete the work as early as possible.
The Collector also visited Mukkoodal where 12 infiltration wells have been sunk, the main pumping station, installation of motors and other related works.
“We should complete the entire work on this project, designed for the people of Vasudevanallur, Alangulam, Sivagiri, Royagiri and 78 wayside habitations, before the onset of Southwest monsoon. The first phase of the scheme should be commissioned before August 31,” Mr. Jayaraman told the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board officials.
Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, V. Palanisamy, accompanied the Collector.
