District Election Officer and Collector, J. Chandrakumar, and members of various political parties on Saturday inspected the EVMs in the district.
The exercise was to make the parties understand that the machines were tamper-proof and kept under tight security. The machines would shortly be sent to polling centres in 11 Assembly segments. Collector said 373 machines and 3197 controlling units had been stored in the safe room in rows. These machines would be sent to the segments before April 4, and they would be moved to respective polling booths on the night of April 12.
He also inspected the Information Centre, which had received 128 complaints regarding polls. District Information and Public Relation Department had screened short films on voting rights in villages.
