The book Mazaiyin Niram Pachai , a collection of poems authored by poet Ilangovan, former Pudukottai district secretary of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artistes Association, was released at a function held here recently.

The function was got up jointly by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers’ Association and Meera Publishing House at the Land Surveyors’ Union Hall.

N. Muthunilavan, poet, was the chief guest and he released the book by handing over copies to scholars and leaders of trade and industry. He commended Mr. Ilango for expressing his opinion on different important subjects without deviating from his known progressive path.

Kavivarman, poet; R.M.V. Kathiresan, chairman of the Venkateswara Educational Institutions; S. Prithiviraj, president of the Small Scale Industries Association of Pudukottai; Shanmuga Palaniappan, president of the Hotel Owners’ Association; S. Alagappan, former regional president of the Junior Chamber International; received the first copy of the book from Mr. Muthunilavan.

Jeevi, poet, and Thangam Moorthy, member of the Tamil Advisory Committee of the Sahitya Akademy, were felicitated.

Poet Ilango spoke thanking for the felicitations.
