Proper receipts should be given: Collector
ERODE: Educational institutions, especially teacher training institutes, should collect the stipulated fees from students and proper receipts should be given to them, Collector T. Udhaychandran, said here on Thursday.
Addressing the International Consumers Day programme organised by the Erode District Consumers Protection Council, he said that the Government had given many concessions for the consumers.
The Collector said in the Government hospital here a patients' welfare committee would soon be formed and the office-bearers of the consumer body would be included as members.
The Collector said that activated learning method would be introduced in elementary schools.
Mr. Udhaychandran wanted the consumer body members to visit schools and fair price shops and inform him about malpractices, if any, and he would take stringent action without any fear or favour.
Council president S.K.M. Maeilanandhen presided.
Earlier, the Collector inaugurated a consumer awareness exhibition.
