Coimbatore: Over 1,000 Plus Two students in Coimbatore, Erode and Nilgiris districts are attending coaching classes being conducted by the PSG Centre for Non-formal and Continuing Education, for the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination.

Nominal amount

Sources at PSG Institutions said that the students were required to pay a nominal amount for the classes, conducted every day from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Most of the classes were held at the PSG College of Technology, though other facilities in PSG Institutions were also likely to be used.

To handle the classes, the PSG Centre had approached suitable faculty members in Coimbatore and neighbouring areas.

The aim was to help students learn the best way to tackle entrance examination questions dealing with mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, besides managing the time at their disposal and scoring high marks.

This year, about 400 girls and 600 boys were attending the classes, which would go on till May 11. About 20 to 30 teachers were engaged in the task.
