MADURAI: Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a clerk in the Passport Office here on Monday.

According to CBI sources, A.M. Sharif (50), working as a Upper Division Clerk, had demanded a bribe of Rs.2,000 from an engineering graduate for accepting an application under the tatkal scheme. A team of the Anti-Corruption Branch caught Sharif red-handed after he accepted the bribe from the applicant. — Special Correspondent
