City policewoman bags silver medal

A woman head constable of Tiruchi City Police has bagged silver medal in an event at the Police Duty Meet held at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy in Oonamancheri near Chennai recently. The annual meet saw the participation of nearly 1,000 police personnel of different ranks from 19 districts and Commissionerates.

Forty six police personnel, headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police representing Tiruchi City Police, took part in the six-day meet held from June 10 to 15.

The meet featured various events, including anti-sabotage checks, scientific aids investigation, videography, photography, computer skills, fingerprint, and lifting and packing.

Head constable Sudhamathi, attached to Srirangam All Women Police Station, bagged a silver medal in “Observation” event.

Contests were conducted for the police dogs during the meet. As many as 56 well trained tracker dogs took part in sniffing explosive, narcotics, and crime detections events. “Tiger” attached to the Tiruchi City Police Dog Squad bagged the silver medal in narcotics detection.

Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav appreciated Ms. Sudhamathi and Mr. Amalraj when they called on him along with the team at the City Police Office.
