MADURAI: One of the most famous and old forms of live entertainment, circus, is all set to entertain the young and old of Madurai. Colourfully dressed clowns, men and women on flying trapeze, daredevil performers riding motorcycles at a great speed inside a globe, camels doing small stunts, elephants playing cricket and dogs performing tricks are all there.

Russian ring balance, Russian acrobat, gymnastics, gun shooting, skywalk, horse riding will also form part of the performance. The 22-year-old ‘Great Indian Circus’ has performed in many of the South Asian and South East Asian countries and most of the performers have been trained by experts from Russia, South Korea and China.

The show will be inaugurated on Friday by Mayor Thenmozhi Gopinathan in the presence of Corporation Commissioner S. Sebastine and Deputy Mayor P.M. Mannan.

Walk in to CSI Church Ground, K. Pudur on Algarloil Road and lose yourself in the big top. Tickets are available at Rs.30, Rs. 50, Rs. 70 and Rs. 100 and the show timings are 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and it will be in the city for 40 days.
