The Puducherry chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry, on Wednesday, launched a health awareness campaign among students of government schools.
Inaugurating the campaign at Navalar Nedunchezhian Higher Secondary at Lawspet here, K. Amarnath, president, CII, Puducherry, said it was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility concept and the campaign would be carried out in association with Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education. It would revolve around three aspects - nutrition, personal hygiene and safe usage of internet, and would cover 10,000 students in Classes X, XI and XII. They would be given a study material prepared by experts.
He added that as many as 5000 students would be covered in the first phase. The experts would visit various government schools to spread awareness about health issues.
