The fourth ‘CII-SR Regional Emerging Entrepreneur Awards’ instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Southern Region in association with The Hindu Business Line will be presented at a function here in March.
Submissions for nominations for the awards for 2013 closes on January 31. The application process is available online at http://fs9.formsite.com/CITN/ form277/index.html.
The awards were instituted to recognise first-generation entrepreneurs who are leading companies with an annual turnover of over Rs. five crore, who have been in business for three to 10 years, and who hail from the southern States.
Pointing to the importance of recognition in an entrepreneur’s journey, Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman, CII-SR Sub-Committee on Entrepreneurship & Innovation and CMD of TVS Capital Funds Limited said such awards showcased entrepreneurs to various stakeholders such as potential investors, customers, bankers, vendors and employees.
According to him, the awards would nurture, cherish and recognise first generation entrepreneurs from the South Indian States who have exhibited compelling potential to scale up to national and global players. Since the time they were instituted in 2010, the awards have drawn good response from the entrepreneur community. According to K. Venugopal, the Co-Chair, CII-SR Subcommittee on Entrepreneurship and Director, Kasturi & Sons Ltd. , the entrepreneur ecosystem is extremely encouraging and is not just confined to the main cities.
