In the business of displaying and selling homemade chocolates in different forms for the last about 15 years and known for their penchant for commemorating various globally significant occasions with chocolate festivals, siblings S.M.Fazloor Rahman and S.M.Abdhul Rahman, who run the NPS Super Market here, took their passion for the local delicacy to a different level on Friday by creating a museum in its honour.

Located at Indunagar on Ooty-Mysore road, the Chocolate Museum has been billed as the first of its kind in the country.

Describing it as a long cherished dream, the promoters told The Hindu that in December 2010 they had organised the first chocolate festival featuring 101 varieties and since then they had shown their deep love for cocoa and chocolates in different ways. Bringing into being a museum was a natural corollary.

Apart from the 16 items designed with chocolates, posters listing the health benefits of cocoa have also been displayed.

To a question, they said that the items displayed could remain in their original form for weeks together.
