Sterlite Copper plans to support education of girls
An inter-school competition was organised for girl children at RC School, Threspuram here on Saturday as part of Ilam Mottukal Project. Sterlite Copper in association with Naandi Foundation conducted the programme ‘TALHUNT’, in where nearly 1,500 children from 72 different schools competed.
Events such as blasting the balloons, frog race, rhyme singing, filling water in the bottle, obeying the order (listening skill), storytelling, 200m running race, lemon race, memory game, essay writing, ball in the bucket, skipping, spellbee, shot put, dance and speech competitions were organised.
The project was launched with an objective to ensure that every girl child is provided with quality school education to realise their fullest potential.
It has allotted Rs 1.4 crore and will support the education of 5035 girl children from various schools.
