Excitement, joy, high fives and tears-the Tiruchi audition of the Airtel Super Singer Junior 3 had it all.

The two-day audition, which concluded here on Sunday, attracted nearly 700 children in the age group of 6 to 14 years. Yet, the number was not as much as last time.

“There is a reason for the slightly lesser entries. Last time, auditions took place in Tiruchi after Coimbatore, and those who missed out there tried their chances here. Nevertheless, the competition was, as usual, stiff,” said Pradeep Milroy Peter, Head of Programming, Vijay TV.

The preliminary round judges were Airtel super singers Ajeesh, Prasanna, Srinivas and Ragini. Renowned singers ‘Pushpavanam' Kuppusamy, S.P. Sailaja and Nithyasree Mahadevan, who were the main judges for the Tiruchi zone, praised the enthusiasm and passion of the young participants.

As many as 134 from the Tiruchi zone moved on to the second stage of audition in which about 20 were selected for the next level of competition. “Airtel Super Singer has been the top reality show in Vijay TV for the past few years and its popularity keeps growing,” Mr. Pradeep added.

The winner of the Airtel Super Singer Junior 3 would not only get recognition from acclaimed artistes in the music industry, but also a prize worth Rs. 60 lakh.

Vijay TV will be airing the programme from Monday to Friday at 9 p.m. starting October 17.
