Over 3,000 students, teachers, parents and drivers of school buses, autorickshaws and taxis on Wednesday paid homage to Muskan and Rithik who were kidnapped and murdered in Coimbatore.

They kept candlelight vigil and offered prayers at Dolphin Matriculation Higher Secondary School here. School correspondent AR. Ramanathan, who presided over the tearful homage, said that the culprits should be awarded exemplary punishment which would be a lesson for others. Principal A. Padma appealed to the drivers to treat the students they ferried to school as their own. Any substitution of drivers should be conveyed to the parents and school in advance, she said. The children prayed that such incidents should not happen in future.
