Anwar Basha (7) son of Mohammed Sharief (37) of Vandipettai engaged in rag picking in Thanjavur along with his father was rescued by Childline, a voluntary organisation, and admitted to Rajaji School of Children Welfare Society, here on Tuesday. The boy’s father is said to be an alcoholic and his mother had died last year. Mohammed Sharief had sent his other son Bilal Rasool (10) to Chennai. Six months ago, Bilal Rasool, who was seen picking rags in Chennai, was rescued by the Chennai-unit of Childline and admitted to Rajaji School. Mohammed Sharief was given counselling.
