The Consumer Guild of Tamil Nadu has appealed to the newly-elected Chairman of Chidambaram Municipality Nirmala Sundar to improve the water supply system in the temple town.

Guild secretary C.D.Appavu in a representation stated that the civic body should take all possible steps for the supply of clean and protected water.

For augmenting the storage capacity it should also deepen the tanks in the Vakkaramari area.

The child delivery ward in the Chidambaram hospital should be spruced up and a doctor appointed.

It also appealed to the Chairman to remove the encroachments from the platforms of all the four car streets surrounding the Lord Nataraja temple.
