The official merchandise of Chennai Super Kings was on Thursday launched at an event organised here by Landmark and Cool Maal Merchandizing.
Fresh from the easy victory over against Kochi Tuskers Kerala here on Wednesday, two members of the team, R. Ashwin and Anirudha Srikkanth, launched the merchandise. Attired in tees, the two ensured that the visitors to the bookstore, many of whom had come just to see them, did not return disappointed. They answered queries fielded by youngsters, signed autographs and readily posed for pictures with them.
Pratyush Padmanabhan, a class V student from Delhi, is a hardcore CSK fan. He and his parents could not make it to the match on on Wednesday as the ticket prices had shot up, but the meeting with the two cricketers made his day.
“Their batting has lot more energy than the seniors. I am really happy to have got Anirudha's autograph,” said a thrilled Pratyush, who has a collection of signatures of cricketers.
Many others were happy to get a close-up view of the two players.
B. Jayesh from Erode wanted his schools to reopen at the earliest as he wanted to tell his friends about the meeting with the cricketers and the autograph he got.
“I am going to frame the autograph given by Ashwin,” said the class IX student.
