  • Over four lakh students from 304 schools took part
  • Students from reputed schools in 16 cities participated

    CHENNAI: Pratyush Nalam of Class Eight and Class Seven student Varun Rajagopal of Padma Seshadri School were among the finalists at the fifth `All India Euro Enviro Quiz 2006-07' held recently in Mumbai.

    Over four lakh students from 304 schools took part in the quiz, in which the team from Bhubaneshwar-based St. Xavier's High School emerged winner.

    Organised by the Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment (EFIE), the final round had teams from Kochi, Chennai, Indore and Bhubaneshwar participating. Prior to the national final, each team had to clear a written round, preliminary round and a city final. Students from reputed schools in 16 cities participated.

    Awareness programme

    EFIE secretary S.K. Palekar said a students awareness programme was among their other initiatives to promote environmental protection.
