Southern Railway has announced changes in pattern of train services in Tiruchi–Mayiladuthurai–Villupuram section due to line block in Thanjavur from April 3 to 9.
Fully cancelled: Tiruchi–Thanjavur passenger (76820) leaving Tiruchi at 1.10 a.m. on April 7 and 8; Thanjavur–Tiruchi passenger (76823) leaving Thanjavur at 5.35 a.m. on April 7 and 8; Kumbakonam–Thanjavur passenger (56039) leaving Kumbakonam at 8.05 a.m. on April 7 and 8; Thanjavur–Kumbakonam passenger (56040) leaving Thanjavur at 6.05 p.m. on April 7 and 8; Thanjavur–Tiruchi passenger (76821) leaving at 8.05 a.m. on April 7; Mayiladuthurai–Tiruchi Express (16233) leaving at 8.10 a.m.; Tiruchi–Mayiladuthurai express (16234) leaving at 1.00 p.m.; Thanjavur–Mayiladuthurai passenger (76826) leaving at 11.10 a.m.; Mayiladuthurai–Thanjavur passenger (76825) leaving at 7.35 p.m.; Tiruchi–Nagore passenger (56712) leaving at 10 a.m.; and Nagore–Tiruchi passenger (56713) leaving at 3 p.m., all on April 9.
Partially cancelled: Thanjavur–Karaikal passenger (76812) leaving at 6 a.m. on April 7 will be partially cancelled between Thanjavur and Thiruvarur. Mayiladuthurai–Tirunelveli passengers (56821/56822) will be partially cancelled between Tiruchi and Mayiladuthurai in both directions, on April 9.
Trains diverted: The following trains will be diverted via Mayiladuthurai–Tiruvarur. Chennai Mannai Express (16179) leaving Chennai Egmore from April 6 to 8 and Mannai Express (16180) leaving Mannargudi on April 7 and 8.
Necessary arrangements for transportation by road will be made for the passengers bound for Kumbakonam and Thanjavur due to diversion of the above trains. A bus will leave Mayiladuthurai at 3.30 a.m. on April 7, 8 and 9 to transport passengers of train no.16179 bound for Kumbakonam.
A bus will leave Needamangalam at 4.15 a.m. on April 7, 8 and 9 to transport passengers of train no.16179 bound for Thanjavur. A bus will leave Thanjavur at 10.30 p.m. on April 7 and 8 to transport passengers from Thanjavur to Mayiladuthurai to board train no.16180.
A bus will leave Kumbakonam at 11 p.m. on April 7 and 8 to transport passengers from Kumbakonam to Mayiladuthurai to board train no.16180.
Passengers of Mannai Express (16180) are requested to report at least 30 minutes before the departure of the bus in Thanjavur and Kumbakonam.
Trains rescheduled: Chennai Egmore–Rameswaram Express (16701) scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 9.40 p.m. on April 6 is rescheduled to leave at 11.40 p.m. the same day. Chendur Express (16736) scheduled to leave Tiruchendur at 7.45 p.m. on April 6 is rescheduled to leave at 8.45 p.m. the same day.
Trains regulated: Rockfort Express (16177) leaving Chennai on April 6 will be regulated by 45 minutes en-route. Mysore Express (16232) leaving Mysore will be regulated by 90 minutes en-route on April 6 and by 30 minutes on April 7. Chennai–Madurai Express (22623) leaving Chennai on April 7 will be regulated by 30 minutes en-route. Chennai–Tiruchi Express (16853) leaving Chennai on April 9 will be regulated by 60 minutes en-route.
Karaikal–Tiruchi passenger (56711) leaving Karaikal on April 9 will be regulated by 60 minutes at Saliyamangalam.
Chennai–Rameswaram Express (16701) leaving Chennai on April 7 will be regulated by 60 minutes en-route.
