The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced the following schedule for power shutdown in Karur district effective from August 1.
From 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.: SIDCO Industrial Estate, Vengamedu, Pudhukulathupalayam, VVG Nagar, Periya Kulathupalayam, Pavithram, Viswanathapuri, Kulathurpatti, Sanjay Nagar, Veluchamipuram, Gayathri Nagar, Sellarapalayam, Vadivel Nagar, Mochakottampalayam, Chinnadankoil, Periyandankoil, Govindampalayam and Veppampalayam.
From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m: Chinnandankoil Road, Uzhavar Sandhai, Light House, Mettu Street, Kamarajapuram East, Gowripuram, Jawahar Bazar, Kamaraj Road, Eswaran Koil, Thirumanilayur Agraharam, Vellaripatti, LGB Nagar, Sukkaliyur, Ramanujam Nagar, Bharathi Nagar and Thirukkampuliyur.
From 10 a.m. to noon: Chinnadankoil Road West, Mandi Kadai, Periyar Arch, Appipalayam, Kamarajapuram East, Chinna Kongu Mandapam, Sengunthapuram and Ramakrishnapuram.
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Malaikovilur, Thathampalayam, Vellaripatti, Madhucon, Andipatti, Aravakurichi Mill, Sabare Industrial Area, Thanthonrimalai, Gandhigram, EB Colony, Housing Unit, Pachapatti, Muthugoundanur, Industrial Mayanur, Mill areas, Chinthamanipatti, Mylampatti Water Works, Panjapatti, Karattupatti (all in Karur district) as also Thiruparaithurai, Elamanur and Perugamani in Tiruchi district.
From Noon to 2 p.m.: Velliyanai Water Works and Puliyur Water Works.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Pugalur, Thottakuruchi, East Thavittupalayam, Thalavapalayam, Pugalur Water Works and Kattipalayam
During all other times, three-phase supply would be maintained in the 11Kv power lines.
For agricultural purposes in the rural areas, three-phase supply would be given for six hours in the day and four hours in the night.
During the rest of the time, save power shut down period, two-phase supply would be maintained.
For irrigation purposes in the Cauvery delta area irrigation purposes, power would be supplied for 11 hours during the daytime and three hours during the nights, according to a press release issued here by the Superintending Engineer P. Bhagavathy Raj .
