COIMBATORE: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, has thanked Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for promulgating an ordinance to facilitate the re-structuring of co-operative societies for the revival of the rural co-operative credit structure.
Chamber president D. Balasundaram said in a press release that the introduction of e-stamping to prevent the circulation of fake stamp papers was a welcome measure. And, appointing the Stock Holding Corporation of India to implement the scheme was a step in the right direction.
The chamber also thanked the Chief Minister for providing a budgeted amount of Rs.200 crore towards providing loan to industrial units through the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation for the purchase of gensets.
This would help the industry, especially the small units, to overcome the problems caused by power cut.
