The State Bank of India has installed a cash deposit machine at its Thanjavur main branch for the benefit of customers. R.Kasthurirangan, Assistant General Manager, SBI, said on Saturday that the machine was inaugurated by S.Kirthivasan, General Manager, SBI, on the bank premises on January 30.
The facility will be available to SBI customers on all days of the year. The customer can deposit up to Rs.49, 900 per transaction. The machine will accept cash with the denomination of Rs.1000, Rs.500 and Rs.100 only. At one instance a maximum of 200 pieces of notes can be deposited.
The cash deposited through the machine will be credited to the account immediately. Customers can also update their passbook by making entries through the passbook printing machine. Instructions on using the machine are displayed in the building.
