The Odiansalai Police have filed a case against persons who have erected a digital banner outside the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped in Duprayapet on Tuesday.

According to the police, the banner had been put up on Tuesday, by members of the All Associations for the Differently Abled, and it alleged that the officials at the VRC had manhandled a person with disabilities. When the police investigated the allegation, they were found to be false.

On Tuesday, a protest was staged outside the VRC, following which the digital banner was erected.

In response to the banner, the VRC has written to the Collector, with copies to the Director General of the Ministry of Labour and Employment in New Delhi, Director General of Police in Puducherry and other officials defending their stand.

They also state that the association leaders have not come to the centre to discuss the issue or issued a notice to the department regarding their agitation. The police are still investigating the case.
