Forest officials seized the carcass of a civet cat, an endangered wild animal, and eight live mongoose in Dharmapuri district on Thursday. Forest officials arrested S. Maadhu (45), of Mettur, in this connection. G. Thangaraj, Dharmapuri Forest Ranger, told The Hindu that the man was arrested when he was about to sell the wild animals near a Tasmac shop in Indoor. The accused would be produced before the local court on Friday.
