TIRUCHI: Information Technology major Wipro will conduct a campus recruitment drive for arts and science students of the region at the Cauvery College for Women in the City on October 6 and 7.
Final-year students of B. Sc. in Computer Science, Maths, Electronics, Information Technology, Physics and Statistics, and B.C.A. could apply. Addressing reporters here on Thursday, college governing council secretary K. Aranganathan said that they expected 1,000 students from 16 colleges for the recruitment programme.
The candidates must hold a minimum combined aggregate of 60 per cent in their majors in first and second years. They must have secured a percentage of 60 and above in standard X and XII.
The candidates must take an aptitude test and the short-listed candidates will have to appear for technical and HR interviews. Selected candidates would have an opportunity to join Wipro Academic School for Excellence (WASE), through which they would be able to pursue M.S. course offered by Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani.
The company will provide scholarship for selected WASE candidates. The candidates would be placed in any one of Wipro’s centres in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata.
Registrations for campus recruitment could be either done through the college or individually by producing college identity cards and mark statements on October 6 at 8.30 a.m., Principal V. Sujatha said.
