Special camps to receive applications for inclusion, exclusions and corrections in electoral rolls would be conducted in all polling stations in the district on Sunday.
The draft electoral roll, released on October 1, 2012, has been made available at the polling stations and voters of the respective areas could check whether their names and other details are correct. If necessary, applications for corrections could be submitted.
Those attaining the age of 18 as on January 1, 2013 and eligible voters whose names have been omitted can apply for inclusion of their names in the voters list with relevant documents.
The applications would be received by the booth-level officers between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, in a press release, appealed to the voters to extend their cooperation in preparation of cent percent accurate voters list by verifying the draft electoral roll and utilise the opportunity for inclusion, exclusion, or correction now.
Meanwhile, the district administration has launched a publicity campaign about the summary revision of the electoral rolls. Handbills and posters have been put up at government offices, places of public congregations, automated teller machines centres, and buses.
