The benefits of tea on the health front should be widely propagated, said the Deputy Director, Tea Board, Hari Prakash, at Gudalur on Wednesday.

Presiding over a programme jointly organised by the Tea Board and the Gudalur-based Centre for Consumer, Human Resource and Environment Protection, he said that children in particular should be made aware of the medicinal properties of tea. They should be taken to tea factories. Stringent and sustained action by the Tea Board has to a significant extent tackled problems relating to tea adulteration, he added.
