State Bank of India opens new branch in Ammapet
Automated teller machine centre to be opened on July 1
SALEM: Collector J. Chandrakumar called upon the banks in the district to provide education loans to all eligible students.
Inaugurating a new branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) on TVK Road in Ammapet here on Thursday, the Collector said that there should not be any delay in sanctioning education loans to eligible students.
The Collector appreciated the services extended by the banks in the district for various socio-economic development activities.
The SBI had opened a new branch in Ammapet following repeated requests from the public and traders in the area.
He handed over education loan to Pradeep Nirmal, a student.
The SBI has equipped the new branch with all modern banking facilities including core banking solution.
An ATM centre was also established and would be opened for the public on July 1.
The bank would function from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Those present included Smabandam Spinning Mills Managing Partner Devarajan, and SBI Regional Manager K.R. Rajaraman. Assistant General Managers Kannan Raja, Arul Pandi and Baskar, Indian Bank Deputy General Manager R. Mahadevan, and SBI Branch manager Ashokkumar. and senior officials were present.
