Failure per se is not a disaster, hence it should be treated as a stepping stone to success, observed the Nilgiris Collector Archana Patnaik while participating as the chief guest in the graduation ceremony organized by the Alumni Association of Providence College for Women in Coonoor on Friday.

Lamenting that the younger generation is finding it difficult to accept failures, she said that a mindset change should be brought about.

Urging the students to put their priorities in order, she said that in an increasingly competitive environment only those who work hard can move up the ladder.

While importance should be given to studies students should also develop interest in extracurricular activities and other hobbies.

The Principal, Sister Maria Goretti Martis, administered a pledge to the students.

Among those present was the College Secretary Sister Annie Pamplany.

A total of 242 graduates received their degree certificates at the convocation function.
