CHENNAI: There will be no hurdles for the State Government-run Cable Corporation to make use of modern technology, M. Karunanidhi, Chief Minister, said on Wednesday.

The Government was not employing outdated technology. The Corporation would use the available technology, the Chief Minister said in a statement.

Once the Cable Corporation began its operations, it would lead to generation of jobs and extension of services to people at economical rates. Unlike the previous All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regime’s attempt to make television cable services an exclusive function of the Government, the present administration was for acting as yet another player in the field, apart from the existing private players.

On the Constitution Bench’s observations, questioning the objections against providing quota for Other Backward Classes, the Chief Minister termed them “comforting.”
