ERODE: Students of Kongu Arts and Science College, Erode, got an opportunity to interact with the corporate world, thanks to the platform provided by The Hindu Business Line Club.

The students listened to Gibson Vedamani, executive director, Kirtilal Kalidas, Coimbatore, and also had occasions to pose questions to him. At the inauguration of the Club on Thursday, Mr. Vedamani urged the students to make use of such opportunities because in his students days there were not many.

“We, as management students, hardly had an opportunity. Our exposure to the corporate world was through the media,” he said.

“Today, you have plenty of opportunities and means to learn more, interact with corporate world and grow quicker and faster.”

He also asked the students to use the Club to go beyond textbooks and turn to journals, magazines and other sources to understand problems industries and companies face.

“This is important because, when you enter an industry, the world there will be very different and have very little relevance to what you studied.”

Mr. Vedamaniasked the students to be clear about their plans.
