Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) services were disrupted on Thursday evening as several union representatives abstained from work during the second shift to file nomination papers. An election will be held on November 25 to decide which union will have representative of all workers during the upcoming wage negotiations with the management. The depots from which a significant number of buses did not ply in the evening were Thiruvanmiyur, T.Nagar and Poonamallee. MTC has 28 unions, apart from 14 unrecognised ones.
