Coimbatore District Small Industries' Association will organise the sixth edition of Build Intech, a building material exhibition, here next month.

S. Manivasakam, chairman of the event, said here on Wednesday that 200 participants from different parts of the country will put up stalls at the expo from February 17 to 20. The event will focus on energy efficient systems, green buildings and environment-friendly construction.

A couple of participants from the United States and China will be represented by their Indian partners.

Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India and the banks would have separate pavilions at the exhibition.

Speaking at a programme here to launch the event, M. Kandhaswami, President of the association, said the exhibition will have stalls occupying over 3,000 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex.

Rajesh B. Lund, Chairman of the Coimbatore Chapter of the Indian Green Building Council, said a seminar would be held on February 18 on “Green Building- the Only Way”. It would highlight ways for industries to make their buildings green. It would also guide those constructing new factories on have environment-friendly features.

J. Vanangamudi, Lead District Manager, said bankers would participate at the fair to help home buyers will finance. This would be a win-win platform for banks and property promoters.

Releasing the exhibition brochures, M. Krishnan, President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, said such exhibitions help market Coimbatore. The city needs to develop its brand.
