Exhibition will be open to the public till December 10

The 11th edition of ‘Build Expo-2012-13’ which opened here on Thursday show-cases the latest in construction and allied industries.

Besides displaying the popular brands of construction materials, the five-day exhibition with 132 stalls is also exhibiting the latest technology in the industry that includes various environmental-friendly materials and designs.

As the power cut rage is at its peak in the State, many have exhibited solar and wind power generators for a house.

Glass murals

To add aesthetic touch to the constructions, Glass Gallery from Bengaluru, has pitched its tent here showcasing glass murals, cold fusion, pillars, bathroom doors, glass doors, partitions, fabric glass, glass flooring and mirror consoles.

For those who love antique touches in glass works, a range of eye-catching designs are there on display.

Stalls that display materials of many and varied types include modular kitchens that suit all types of kitchens, special carved furnishing doors, exquisite curtains and swanky interior designs, eco-friendly bamboo furniture and wall-friendly colour paintings.

“We have focused this time on exclusive material collections, far away from routine ones in construction industry,” said one of the organisers. He further added that with high rise apartments on the increase, the city clientele demands the best with a difference.

Souvenir

Earlier at the inaugural function, A. Shanmugasundaram, Chancellor, Vinayaka Mission University, released the souvenir and first copy was received by Dr. R. Vallinayagam, Dean, Salem Government Medical College Hospital.

Kav.Senthilkumar, President of Salem Civil Engineers’ Association presided.

A free medical and eye camp also was organized in which R. Mohanraj, President, Federation of All Civil Engineers Associations of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry took part.

M. Asokan, Chairman, Build Expo, proposed a vote of thanks. The exhibition will conclude on December 10.
