BSNL launches special plan for paramilitary personnel

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has launched a special pre-paid plan, ‘Rakshak' exclusively for paramilitary personnel in Tamil Nadu.

The plan could be availed by Railway Protection Force, State armed forces, Central Reserve Police Force, Rapid Action Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indian Home Guards, Border Security Force and Indian Coast Guard. Personnel of these forces can get one pre-paid connection under the plan.

The plan was launched at a function held in the city on Saturday with C.Jayabalan, Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police, I Battalion, receiving the first SIM card from V.Raju, principal general manager, BSNL, Tiruchi.

SIM card along with first re-charge coupon will be available at Rs.52 with Rs.20 free talk time to BSNL numbers, Rs.10 free talk time to other network numbers, Rs.10 worth video calls, 50 free local SMS and 50 free national SMS. Customers can talk for 20 minutes free every day to two BNSL mobile, WLL or landline numbers anywhere in India. Call to the two numbers beyond 20 minutes would be charged at one paisa a second.

Customers can also talk at a reduced rate of 20 paise a minute to two BSNL numbers in Tamil Nadu and at 30 paise a minute to one BSNL number outside Tamil Nadu. Local and STD calls to other BSNL numbers or other networks would be charged at 1 paisa a second. Monthly extension of validity of connection could be done on paying Rs.97 with free talk time of Rs.73.

SIM cards under the plan can be obtained by the eligible persons by submitting applications along with photo copies of their identity cards attested by their controlling officer.

The SIM cards can be obtained at the BSNL service centres in Tiruchi, Karur, Pudukottai, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts, Mr.Raju said in a press release.
