In a bid to bring more customers under its fold, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited's Tirunelveli Telecom District is conducting a mobile number portability mela in the district for six days from February 20.
According to General Manager, BSNL, Tirunelveli Telecom District, K. Balasubramanian, customers of other private operators can make use of this opportunity to switch over to the BSNL without changing their mobile number.
To extend quality service to the customers and increase the mobile phone coverage, the Tirunelveli Telecom District has commissioned new mobile phone towers at Devanallur, Kadamboduvaazhvu, Kasidharmam, Panaiyur, Kavalakurichi, Vadakku Kaarukurichi, Palai Sakthi Nagar and Kurichi.
Hence subscribers of private operators from the above areas can use this mela to switch over to the BSNL without changing their mobile number.
He also informed that the BSNL has offered full talk time value for all Top-ups with the value of Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,100 in C-Top-ups and in paper vouchers in 2G and 3G prepaid mobile services for six days from February 20.
BSNL has increased the charges for duplicate SIMs being issued in lieu of the lost or damaged SIMs from Rs. 20 to Rs. 100 in case of 2G and from Rs. 59 to Rs. 139 in case of 3G, Mr. Balasubramanian added.
