Minister to flag off train at Karaikudi

TIRUCHI: The Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, will inaugurate the newly laid broad gauge line in Pudukottai-Karaikudi section and flag off train services at Karaikudi Railway Station at 5.45 p.m. on Saturday.

Union Ministers R. Velu, S. Regupathy, Ministers, K.N. Nehru and K.R. Periakaruppan and others will participate in the function, according to a press release.

The inaugural special will leave Karaikudi at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday.

Regular services

Regular services will commence from May 20 to the following schedule:

Train No. 829 Tiruchi-Karaikudi passenger will leave Tiruchi Junction at 6.15 p.m., arrive at Pudukottai at 7.24 p.m.

The train will leave Pudukottai at 7.26 p.m. and will reach Karaikudi at 8.45 p.m.

Train No. 830 Karaikudi-Tiruchi passenger will leave Karaikudi at 6.45 a.m., arrive at Pudukottai at 7.48 a.m.; leave Pudukottai at 7.50 a.m.; and reach Tiruchi Junction at 9 a.m.

Train No. 831 Tiruchi-Karaikudi passenger will leave Tiruchi at 6.30 a.m.; arrive at Pudukottai at 7.43 a.m.; leave Pudukottai at 7.45 a.m. and reach Karaikudi at 9 a.m.

Train No. 832 Karaikudi-Tiruchi passenger will leave Karaikudi at 6.45 p.m.; arrive at Pudukottai at 7.43 p.m.; leave Pudukottai at 7.45 p.m. and reach Tiruchi Junction at 9 p.m.

These trains will stop at Kumaramangalam, Keeranur, Narthamalai, Vellanur, Pudukottai, Namanasamudram, Tirumayam, Chettinad and Kottaiyur stations.
