Bridge over troubled waters

Share  ·   print   ·

The construction of bridge across the Vaigai River in Paramakudi is moving at a snail's pace.

The temporary lower bridge, which was laid for the movement of vehicle has been badly damaged due to the recent rain.

Even two-wheelers find it difficult to navigate this road and especially at a time when flood warning is being issued by the PWD authorities. The Honourable Minister for Co-operation also inspected the bridge. I request the authority concerned to build the bridge in a war footing manner.

Withdraw new 2 and 5 rupee coins

The newly released 2 rupee and 5 rupee coins resemble the existing one rupee and fifty paise coins respectively and even literate people find it difficult to identify them. The coins can be identified only by keenly observing the numerical number. In olden days various size of coins, including various shapes were in circulation so it was not difficult to identify them. While the 5 rupee coins of 1996 to 2000 series are easily distinguishable, the latest series is creating problem. I request the Union Finance Minister to look into it and take remedial measure.

K. Somasundaram,

Devakottai.
