BRAIN-Brilliant Resource for Academic Institutions v2.13 software developed with a key intention of automating all the university activities will be released at the Information and Communication Technologies Festival 2013 to be organised at Periyar Maniammai University from April 25 to 27, according to N. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, Periyar Maniammai University.

He told presspersons that the centre for excellence — “Next Generation Communication Network Lab” — for learning optical networking will be inaugurated on the occasion.

The ICT festival is organised as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the university, Mr. Ramachandran said. The theme of the festival is “Absolutely Smart-Empowering and Enriching Humanity”. “With our mission of reaching the unreached, the ultimate intention of the fiesta is to inculcate the students with the knowledge of Information and Communication Technologies,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

Sridhar Mitta, Founder, Nextwealth Entrepreneurs Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore; K.P.J. Reddy, Professor of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore,; V. Ponraj, Technical Adviser to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam; will attend the conference.

Prof. Ayyavoo, Registrar of the university, and Swaminathan, Deputy Registrar, were present.
