: The Madurai Muslim United Jamaath has decided to withdraw its decision to boycott the ensuing Assembly polls, following the transfer of the case related to the presence of a calf's head in the RSS office here to the CB-CID.

In a statement, the president of the jamaath, T. Najumudeen, said that the calf head case and the desecration of Kazimar Street mosque case had been transferred to the CB-CID for investigation as a result of a sustained struggle by 15 Muslim organisations. The Muslims had threatened to boycott the elections, seeking CB-CID probe into the two cases.

The jamaath appealed to all Muslims to participate in the elections.
