A 14-year-old boy who went to a church in Aminjikarai on Easter day, with his grandmother, is missing. Aminjikarai police have registered a case and have launched a search to locate the teenager.

Aminjikarai police identified the boy as Abey Mon, a student of Everwin Matriculation School in Kolathur and a resident of Indira Gandhi Nagar in Pallavan Salai.

According to Abey's cousin S. Saravanan, the teenager had gone to church on the morning of April 8 with his grandmother Leelamma. “She came out of the church after mass and realised that Abey was missing. She searched everywhere and told me and other relatives. We looked for him but were not able to find him,” added Saravanan.

On April 12, Leelamma lodged a compliant with the police, who registered a missing case. “We have sent the boy's photograph and details to the Crime Records Bureau and have launched a search ,” said an investigating officer.

Abey Mon lived with his aunt and family and had been a friend and neighbour of Dilson (13), who was shot dead by a retired army officer last July, when he had entered the defence complex on Flag Staff House Road to pluck almond nuts.
