TAMBARAM: An eight-year-old boy was found dead at a stone quarry in Tirusulam on Monday morning.

According to the Pallavaram police, parents of Mohammed Ibrahim, a resident of Dargah Colony, complained on Saturday evening that their son left from home two days ago and did not return.

Policemen searched for the boy for two days but were unable to trace him.

Early on Monday morning, Tirusulam residents noticed a boy lying unconscious inside a stone quarry and informed the police.

He was taken to Tambaram Taluk Government Hospital, where doctors said that he should have died several hours ago.

The police added the boy was mentally challenged.
