Minister for Handlooms and Textiles S. Sundararaj on Thursday released the logo for the book fair to be held here from January 25 to February 2.

As part of a publicity campaign, he released the logo and Collector K.Nanthakumar received it. The logo conveyed the message of expression of happiness while reading.

The campaign would be stepped up from Friday and stickers of the logo would be displayed in autorickshaws, government, private, college and school buses.

All schools and colleges in the district would be intimated about the fair, being held for the first time in the district.

The fair, organised by the district administration and National Book Trust (NBT), would remain open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Initially it was decided that the fair, to be held at the Ramanathapuram Raja Higher Secondary School ground, would remain open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. only on holidays and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. during weekdays.

The district administration was finalising entertainment, folk art and cultural shows to be held in the evenings, sources said adding scholars and experts were being invited to guide the students on civil services and competitive examinations.
