Books worth Rs.97 lakh sold at the 10-day fair which had foot falls of over 1 lakh

The second book fair held in Perambalur this year stands testimony to the fact that it has become a mass movement, V.Iraianbu, Principal Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, observed here recently.

Delivering the valedictory address of the 10-day fair, he was happy to note that the book fair here had not only been conducted for the second consecutive year but also the volume of books displayed was far higher than even those in bigger districts that boast of big industries, more officials and far wealthier people.

He explained how books enlighten the public on various issues.
