The body of a 41-year-old man, buried over a week ago in Kadaperi near Tambaram, was exhumed on Monday after his elder brother alleged foul play.

Tambaram police said C.Marimuthu, a scrap iron merchant, lived on Ranga Street, Kadaperi. On January 24, he died, following which the body was buried at the burial ground in the locality. On Sunday, Rajendran, his elder brother, lodged a complaint at Tambaram police station, alleging that at the time of burial, they had noticed injuries on Marimuthu’s body.

Following this, an enquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer was ordered. Tambaram tahsildar Bhaktavatsalam and his colleagues, policemen and a team of doctors exhumed the body and conducted a post-mortem at the burial ground.
