The body of a minor girl, who allegedly committed suicide in the house of a constable couple at Washermenpet, was exhumed for further investigation on Saturday, police sources said.

R. Pranathi (16) of Ernavur was working as a domestic help in the house of Ulaganathan and Priya, residing at the police quarters in Washermenpet. On March 12, the girl was found hanging from the ceiling. The body was shifted to the Stanley Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem and later buried in the Kasimedu burial ground. Based on a petition filed by the victim's parents who suspected foul play, the Madras High Court ordered that the body be exhumed.

A team of doctors took samples for forensic analysis.
