CHENNAI: BJP State unit president L. Ganesan on Thursday threatened an agitation if renovation of the Bharatiyar memorial house at Triplicane was not completed by October 11, two months ahead of the birth anniversary of the national poet.

In a statement here, Mr. Ganesan said no events were allowed in the house for the last two years on the ground that a portion of the building had been damaged.

Mr. Ganesan said that he visited the house on Thursday but could not enter inside because of the refurbishing works. He asked the State government to clarify whether it proposed to house government offices in the building.
