TIRUCHI: An Airbus-320 aircraft of Air Asia suffered a bird hit at the airport here on Friday. However, the aircraft did not suffer any major damage.

The aircraft from Kuala Lumpur was hit by a bird while taxiing down the runway. It was, however, safely brought to a halt. The aircraft was carrying a full capacity of 180 passengers.

On examination, only some bird feathers were found stuck in the engine. Engineers conducted a check and cleared the aircraft for take off. The flight left for Kuala Lumpur at around 11 a.m., after a delay of about one-and-a-half hours.
