For a Farmers’ Training Centre in Tuticorin
: A bhoomi puja was performed to set up a new Farmers’ Training Centre on the Agriculture Marketing Complex on Ettayapuram Road here on Saturday.
S.T. Chellapandian, Labour Minister, who initiated the proceedings, said infrastructure would be augmented to the tune of Rs.1.50 crore.
Facilities, including office building, laboratory and three conference halls, would be established.
The project would facilitate sharing of technological advancements in the field of agriculture and imparting required training to enhance livelihoods of the farming community.
Officials from the Departments of Agriculture and Public Works Department, N. Chinnadurai, Chairman of District Panchayat, and others attended.
